Skin 79 Intense Classic Balm Review

I haven't done a makeup review for quite awhile so I figured I would get on that!

This product is one I feel pretty strange about.
It's the Skin 79 Intense Classic Blam.

Retails for about $20.00 USD locally. The texture of this bb cream is slightly different from others that I've tried. It's thicker and has a almost gel like consistency .

It has medium coverage that shows up more dewy then matte. I found it pretty decent for concealing acne. It didn't totally cover all the time but it didn't get all flaky and dry which was nice. I don't think this was the longest lasting foundation though.

It has a ashy tone to it like most bb creams but it is never really a problem once on the face. It oxidized fast.

I was disappointed by the amount of product you get. I feel like you need a fair amount of this to really cover your face. It doesn't spread that easily. If you have alot of problem areas your going to need a lot of foundation. I like some bb creams for the ability to quickly spread the product all over my face for some type of coverage. Then I can concentrate on the worst parts. This bb cream is more for a specific trouble spot because of the amount of product it takes.

Verdict: Good for sensitive, dry skin and acne but might not be the best value if buying outside of asia or online.
I like it though! I would agree it is somewhat soothing and the coverage isn't that bad. Good for everyday, hassle free foundation. For days you don't need to look totally perfect but pretty close!

Why I Will Be Unable to Pay Rent This Month

Oh man, sometimes I think having so many awesome over priced Asian stores close to me is a bad thing.

Yesterday I went to J-town for the first time. It's a super small, oddly placed Japanese market. I was pretty disappointed with the size. The magazine store was cool though, it was awesome finding Kera. They had vivi, cancan, shoxx, seventeen, a bunch of shojo magazines and some idol mags. They didn't carry popteen which kind of surprised me as you can find it in other places. The cool thing is you can order in a magazine. I ordered Ageha but she said it would probably take over a month to get it in.

Richmond Hill is a city right outside of Toronto that is like it's own Asian country. It has a few huge Asian malls and markets. You won't see a totally English sign for blocks when your there. I'm going to do a post on Pacific Mall soon but for now here is what I've bought in the last week!

My J-town purchases! (Expect the my melody friend key chain). Keram yanyan and these super odd but awesome roll cakes. I think the roll cakes are going to be hard to find which sucks because they taste good!
I couldn't help but buy this crazy cute Liz Lisa Dress.
Or this Liz Lisa style skirt.

Or this WC style skirt.

And this Liz Lisa head bow from the super overpriced 109 brand carrying store Vivi. I can't even come to terms with how much I paid for it. It is just...is...so..cute.

Well I'm going to have a super busy day listing the majority of my closet on ebay but thanks for looking!

Cool Asian Products, Palty Straighter and Spray On Bleach

Remember when intense hair chemical services were done at salons? Well I think with ebay there was just too many people like me ordering the stuff and trying to do it for themselves. In this new market of at home straightening and keratin treatments, there has yet to be one that has had mostly positive reviews.

I was kind of surprised when I saw the super popular Japanese brand Palty had come out with a straightening kit. First of all, I'm just assuming but don't most Japanese girls have straight hair? This formula comes in two strengths, normal and strong. I saw them both on ebay.

I'm wondering if this is a keratin like treatment aimed at gals who over process their hair? I would be super interested to see reviews on this. Let me know if you've tried it out!
I honestly can't see this not futher damaging hair though. With these treatments, things usually get pretty bad after you wash it out but who knows!

Palty Spray On Bleach is a super unique product I also found. This stuff makes me totally curious! First of all, I'm trying to figure out how it works without mixing anything in it! Is it really bleach? It says it is for uneven color (that could be useful) or freshly grown roots. I saw on a bad translation though that it can't remove hair color? Who knows though. It says you can control the level of lighting with the amount of sprays.
It looks cool and convenient but I wouldn't use this without researching it first and don't expect it to really lighten your hair! At best you would get a darker orange from this I imagine. Professional bleach is also likely to cause way less damage.

Let me know if you've used any of these and your experience!

My Birthday at Pop Goes the World - Toronto Kpop/Jpop Dance Party

Friends have always been so, so important to me! They are everything!
I've just managed to have quite a number of really bad ones. I've met some amazing people this year and manage to have kept some of my old important friends. I'm really so glad to have you guys in my life!

I'm so excited to meet more people!

Anyways, my birthday this year was super last minuet as I was kinda thinking it would be pretty disappointing. There happened to be a kpop/jpop dance party planned on my birthday so that should have been a good sign! Also one of my best friends Marie was on reading week so she could come down. Long story short, I had a super random night that turned out AMAZING!

The event was called Pop Goes The World. Add them on facebook if your in or around Toronto ever as I'm pretty sure they plan on hosting more events! It was at Andy's Poolhall which I thought might be a odd venue but it was actually really great! I can't thank them enough for having this on my birthday. I also got myself and a friend in for free for answering a contest question they had on facebook. That was awesome. It was a gift from the Asian music gods!

I really had no time to get ready, everything got pretty chaotic before we were going to go out. It looks like I'm not even really wearing makeup aha. This is some of us right before heading out!

Here is a horrible photo of me with my friend's Amanda and Chanel

At some point I lost my eyelashes. I didn't realize until I got home. This is basically the definition of a good, crazy night for me aha.

I danced SOO intense and crazy that I'm almost glad I didn't spend that much time on my hair. Below is me going crazy with Nicky beside me <3
Some of us before going out <3

and doesn't my friend Jo look like an amazing super model here? This picture looks like the cover of Nuts or Jelly.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING THAT MADE THIS NIGHT HAPPEN!!

What to Look for and What To Know When Buying Hair Products. AKA What Ingredients Do!

It feels like a new hair product comes out everyday. I can't keep up! Instead of trying as many as I have the best advice I can offer is to know what ingredients are good for your hair type!

First see what natural products work the best for you. You can try these out at home or add them into your routine whenever you feel like it. Natural products are highly recommended for curly haired girls because drugstore moisture products usually have too many bad ingredients.

Need Moisture? Look for..

Vegetable Glycerin- It attracts and binds water to itself and adds a layer over the hair to retain water.

Aloe Vera Juice/Gel- actually absorbs in the hair as moisture

Coconut Oil - Best oil for sealing moisture into hair. Gets into hair strands more then other oils.Bold

Jojoba and Almond Oil- Two other oils that are good for sealing hair

Shea butter- Good at sealing moisture and oils into hair

Anti Bacterial ingredients? Oily or irritated scalps and dandruff problems?

Honey- It's a light moisturizer with antibacterial properties
Castor Seed Oil- Moisturizer with anti fungal properties
Tea Tree Oil- Soothing to dry scalps in small doses. Don't overuse!

The basic hair product ingredients

Sulfate- It's basically what strips your hair and makes everything lather. If you have oily hair your going to need this. Dry or damaged hair needs to stay super far away from this!

Silicone- This is a love hate relationship. It will be in your conditioners and leave in products. Silicone products hair from damage in a way nothing else really does. It can also cause a lot of buildup because of this. Dry hair needs the smoothing and protecting properties of it but it can get tricky and gross feeling when using a sulfate free shampoo.

Protein- Damaged hair needs this. It comes in many forms like soy and wheat. Keratine is a super popular protein trend right now in hair protection. Some dry hair types are super sensitive to protein and it will make hair frizzy. People seem to be the most sensitive to wheat protein. The best type of protein treatment is something like the Apogee two step that actually glues hair back together.

The Cheer Ambassadors; A Documentary on Team Thailand aka Bangkok Uni!!!

Oh my god. Every time worlds rolls around in cheerleader land I get SOO excited.
I love how I get a chance to see my favorite mystery team! Team Thailand AKA Bangkok University! They are this mysterious team I never hear mentioned in cheerleading. I think they are so innovative and cool though! They have the craziest stunts. They also always have these cool anime like cheerleading uniforms that make them stand out even more. I always get SO upset when they don't place first.

I'm so excited to be typing thing though. Someone decided to show the story behind them! There is a documentary called The Cheer Ambasador!! Turns out some guy watched worlds one year on tv and was like, HEY I'M GOING TO BRING THIS TO MY COUNTRY! He basically did what I tried to do with my highschool. He started a team by himself and learned how to do everything on his own with them. Instead of failing like me though, he has the best team in the world. It just premiered on Friday, January 27 at the World Film Festival of Bangkok. I'm too excited to watch this to do a proper post. I can't even look through their awesome website. I'M SO WORRIED IT WILL BE OVER A YEAR UNTIL I GET TO SEE IT! Please someone post a way to see this online ASAP!! I can't handle all this documentaries I'm dying to see. This one is at the TOP of my list.

So much better then regular roses.

Dr Feelgood

Oh my god. I love this song. Dr feelgood by Rania is the most addictive thing I've listened to in a long time.

I love the dance! I really want to learn it! The video has way to many crotch shots though.

F Yeah Sailor Moon Tattoos

I'm not sure how I feel about tattoos. I don't think I would like them if I was a mom with kids. Sailor Moon is something I know I love forever though! I'm kinda toying with the idea of getting a SMALL white ink tattoo of a sailor moon wand on my hip. Thoughts??? I really don't know!! People have gotten so many amazing sailor moon tattoos. It blows my mind. I would love to have a big chest piece of a locket for a day but for the rest of my life.... Big tattoos are such a commitment. Its crazy how some people have a TON of them!

Would you get a tattoo? Do you have one? What type of Sailor Moon tattoo would you get?! My favourite out of these are the first two pictures and the Sailor Venus and Jupiter symbols.
