F Yeah Sailor Moon Tattoos

I'm not sure how I feel about tattoos. I don't think I would like them if I was a mom with kids. Sailor Moon is something I know I love forever though! I'm kinda toying with the idea of getting a SMALL white ink tattoo of a sailor moon wand on my hip. Thoughts??? I really don't know!! People have gotten so many amazing sailor moon tattoos. It blows my mind. I would love to have a big chest piece of a locket for a day but for the rest of my life.... Big tattoos are such a commitment. Its crazy how some people have a TON of them!

The Cheerleading Majors. Thoughs, Video and Results!

I was super excited when I found out about The Majors. It was a cheerleading competition held last weekend by Jamfest. They invited the top american teams to compete against each other in a hollywood production type environment. I thought it was pretty awesome. Cheerleading defiantly needs more events that celebrate the sport, coaches and its athletes.

The reactions have been pretty mixed. I'm not surprised as it is the first event of its kind really. Here are my thoughts on the event...

The Highlights:

- Cheer Athletics used The Boys by Girls Generation as the main song of their routine. So awesome.

- The videos shown before the performances. They really made the competition stand out as entertainment. It was a cool way to get to know the team better.

- They introduced every team member as they went on stage. Everyone works hard on a team and I think it was great they all got a special moment of recognition.

-It was broadcast live online

Worth Wondering..:

- Why did they choose to go with senior and not open all girl

- The team music seemed like it was made by the same person. Some of the teams had their own rap/song/cheer basically written for them in between clips of popular music. Super odd.

- The winning teams were being sent to Europe to "spread cheerleading awareness" or something. Seems a little odd.

- The fashion was kinda toned down and unexciting. Why didn't GK Elite sponsor all the teams? They've done so with Top Gun for a ton of competitions.

The Bad

- It cost $10.00 to watch it live online.

- The lack of teams really upset me. Only nine for both divisions! The event was still about two hours long but that was mostly delays. Although these are the staple All Star Us teams I think it would have been a lot more interesting to watch a few more up and comers.

- They kept referring to these teams as the best in the world. No other Country's were represented.

- Timing, what routines are polished or even near done this time of year?

- Why did they do level 5 teams instead of 6?

- Top Gun scored low because of an illegal stunt and assisted partner stunts? (I heard at least..) What the heck is the story behind this? There is no way they couldn't have known the rules?

- The scoring wasn't what most expected. I think the lack of teams doesn't help with the questionable scoring.

Overall, I think this was a step in the right direction for cheerleading. Yes, it had a lot of things wrong with it but I think a competition with this type of production is a step towards Cheerleading nights at your local bar. How awesome would that be? UFC needs to get out so the real action can take over.

New Koda Kumi Song Boom Boom Boys!

Koda Kumi is easily one of my favorite artists. For some reason I think her best stuff comes out when she releases 9 singles/videos at once like shes doing again. This time she's having a baby and not just dealing with her crazy label demands. This is the first Kumi song I've been totally in love with for along time. She keeps the stupid trademark screeching noise to a minimal here. Thank god! I would kill to party with Kumi.

VIP is another awesome party song she just released. The bonus of the song being T-Pain. He just didn't bother to be in the video which is stupid.

Aveda Institute Hair Scholarship Contest: Why are you "Born to Style"?

Aveda Institute is known as the top hair school in Canada and is recognized around the world. They are giving back to community by offering up five full scholarships in five different cities across Canada. All you have to do is submit a video explaining why you are"Born to Style".

The AVEDA pros are always in the center of the fashion world. If your passion is hair and you aspire to work on the hottest sets and fashion shows this is the place to train. I would love a school that promotes uniqueness. The thought of being able to go without the worry of tuition money is just so nice isn't it!

This video basically says it all.

Winners will be selected by a panel of top celebrity judges from each of the five cities (Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto).

The Clamp Wedding Dress. Cosplay and Wedding Dresses! Can They be Both?

Clamp is known for many things. Shojo, cute stories and most of all the costumes. Chobits and Card Captor Sakura have been cosplay staples for as long as they have been around. I've looked at the Chobits artbook thousands of times and I'm sure I will a thousand times more. The details are amazing. Clamp's work is always cute and sometimes sexy. The news they would be releasing a wedding dress was awesomely exciting.

The dress has had some seriously mixed reactions. I love it. It's perfectly clamp. I want it so badly! For a wedding though? I'm not totally sure about that. I had to agree with some of the "what would my inlaws think" comments. If I could go back in time and have a sweet 16 at an anime convention this would be the perfect outfit. This is on the top of my dream buys at the moment. I couldn't find out where they were selling it or if they actually plan on mass producing it.

I was a little surprised they choose to go with a Card Captor Sakura theme. I think a Chobits or Tsubasa theme would have made more sense as the characters are older and more often then not wearing something resembling a wedding dress.

Regardless, I super love the fact that Clamp did this. I would LOVE if Clamp branched out into clothes. I would for sure try to get my hands on something from the line. I think they could totally do a collaboration with Angelic Pretty, Golds Infinity and Ma*rs. Gyaru model Himena would be perfect for it!

Anime and wedding dresses just go together. Regardless of the plot, official wedding artwork with characters always seems to show up! Even anime aimed towards guys has it's fair share of wedding artwork. Wedding dresses and anime make sense together. I've always dreamed of being able to wear one, why have to save it for marriage?

The loophole here is obviously cosplay! To me, cosplay in many ways is about wearing the fashion I could only dream of. Loving the characters plays a big part in it for me but I think most of the time its fashion first. Not to mention, I've been freaking out about having to choose a wedding dress since I was ten. Even a custom Galiano for Dior would make me wonder if it was THE dress.

Video games frequently have weddings weaved into the story. What would a final fantasy be without one? Garnet in Final Fantasy 9 was a dress I attempted to make after seeing a STUNNING cosplayer who made not a costume but a real wedding dress. My sad attempt was well, too much of a costume. I've often wondered about how much cosplayers influence the character designers at square enix.

Girly Shojo anime has to mentioned when it comes to this trend. Sailor Moon is a great example. By looking at the artwork you would think Usagi gets married every episode but nope! It's all just adds to the dream world appeal of magical girl series.

I just have to mention wedding peach in this post.
There are so many well done costumes. It's clear that these cosplayers pour tons of money and time into the project.

I know a lot of the more ball gown type costumes (like garnet) are made specifically for a wedding. Would you ever wear a cosplay for wedding? Would it be more about the dress or the character for you?

The other option is "inspired by" wedding dresses like the Disney Bridal collection. This Cinderella collection dress certainly doesn't look exactly like the character but I think I would feel more like a princess as it draws on elements from a character I love.
I can't believe no one has jumped on the chance to make an official Sailor Moon wedding collection. Clearly I should do this. In a perfect world, I would have a cosplay wedding and a different one. Actually, I would have one every year knowing me. They would be equally insane but I need a chance to wear a cute clamp inspired type dress AND a big ball gown! TLDR; I basically want to buy the clamp dress and wear it to the ball at Anime North or something!

As for what has to be the most awesome cosplay wedding ever, beating this couple would be hard. Not many people can top getting married beside a life sized Gundam. They even named their daughter after a Gundam character.

Please keep in mind that not every idea is a good one. Why this couple thought dressing up as Chi and a Nazi would be awesome to show their grand kids is beyond me.

Amazing Cheap Conditioner - Dove Intensive Repair

I picked this stuff up at rexall because it was on sale. I don't know why I did because I wasn't looking for hair products and I hadn't ever been interested in dove before but OH MY GOD. SO GOOD. I used it after aphogees two step repair thing and left it in over night. Its such an amazing conditioner! So creamy and moisturizing! This is the best conditioner I've come across lately and I'm so happy to have found it! You damaged/dry/frizz babes need to try it out asap! If your hesitant look for it on sale. Use this with a sulfate free shampoo (my fav being the Moroccan oil one) and your hair should LOVE you.

I Can't Stand Heels Lately!

So, maybe I'm looking way too much into this but I feel like heels and boots are being made terribly lately. I recently ordered these two pairs on go jane. I thought they would be crappy and hard to walk in but I legit can't stand in them! There is no flat area! I just wobble around!

Coming from someone who stands on her toes for hours in ballet, this is sad. Dear shoe makers, I love that your trying to make them look good but 6 inch heels is hard enough to deal with. Please make something we can balance all the pressure on. Thanks.

Julie Pedersen - The Most Amazing Mucklucks and Legwarmers Ever

I love when I come across women doing amazing things. All the ladies online running their own successful fashion brands blow my mind. It makes me so happy to find new talent to support. This week I found Julie Pedersen. She has what has to be the coolest footwear line I've seen. Did I mention that she's also Canadian? Love this woman!

The only thing I ever wear is mucklucks. They are comfy, cute and well comfy! Now that Julie has made them even more awesome, I'm sure I will never wear anything else again.

She includes amazing things like feathers and chains. Just love it.

Oh and did I mention Britney Spears freaking wore them?

How hot do these legwarmers look? So versatile. If I could deal with heels on a daily basis I would order 50 of these. (Oh and assuming I had money)

I also thought I would mention the price. I think $350-400 for a pair of these is pretty awesome as store bought muckluks can be like $250. These are handmade and materials are obviously super, super expensive. I finally got some photos with my pointe shoes on! I'm standing on top of a really high building here. As if being on a roof wasn't enough, I had to crawl up this 11 foot flimsy structure on it. I was terrified! Getting down was the worst though. Thankfully the photographer brought a very helpful assistant or I'm sure I would be dead! I took some after standing on what I can only describe as a 5 foot tin can. This was on top of the roof but in the middle so I felt a tad safer. Safer in the sense that if I fell I would only be falling about 7 feet. Sad! It was funny trying to go on pointe on it though. The metal was really light and caving in from my body weight. These shoes I also destroyed in the 10 day summer intensive I did. We did mostly beginner stuff. This was horrible for me because besides the fact the girls were taking my shoes and trying to break them in, every exercise we did was focusing basically on breaking the shoes down (warmups are not good in this case!)

My insanely high arched feet broke them down in about 7 hours with the added pressure. By the end of the week my shoes were so flat my bruised toenails finally fell off and I got a toe infection. Eww! I was wearning Bloch European Balance and loved them at first. I think they just stretched out and killed me though. My first pair, bloch axis just aren't right for my feet. I learned that plastic shoes with tmt or gaynor mindens are terrible for people with feet like mine. I would go so over on my axis, I couldn't balance at all. I went the whole 5 months I danced en pointe at my studio on the exact tip of my shoe and my teacher didn't notice until i asked her right before my last class. I then went to bruise them at the recital trying to teach myself to dance properly in horrible shoes!

I feel bad I didn't get to dance like I wanted to this summer. I started a bit of physical therapy for my insanely difficult body and I realize that before I get any technique in dance I'm going to have to get way more strength. I'm really hyper mobile and don't have any strength from everyday muscles. I'm hoping technique will come after I get more muscle. I'm extremely hyper mobile which means I'm overly flexible and thats part of the reason I'm so weak. I also realized I can't bend my ankles well at all meaning I can't jump or do turns well at all!

Has anyone had to put up with hyper mobility? How do you strengthen your body? Have you managed to overcome some serious body problems in stuff you love to the point where it wasn't an issue? I wanna know!

Atomic Lollipop

I went to Atomic Lollipop a few weeks ago. It was an anime convention/rave/carnival. Pretty crazy and fun! I can for sure say there is no where else you can listen to PONPONPON while on a ride and seeing the person across from you on it dressed in a hilarious pokemon costume. That was pretty awesome.

It was here I also got to meet Naz, Steph and her boyfriend Choryin. Steph and Naz are close friends with Jacquie, the awesome gal I met at anime north this year. They've had their own gal circle for awhile, galuxury but haven't been very active online until more recently. I had totally given up on finding anyone into gal around me and suddenly there is a ton of people! Were all hanging out together Tuesday at Pacific Mall. If your into Gal and near Toronto come! A few other people into gal style are coming as well. It should be super fun. My biggest pet peeve in p-mall is when the shop staff try to tell you a Liz Lisa sweater is $300 because its JAPANESE BURANNDDD. It makes me rage so much because I will mention the brands when asking if they have any of their clothes and they still do this.

Can't wait!

Spice Up Your Dance Wear With Some Sexy and Cute Everyday Friendly Pieces

Last summer something happened to me. I stopped caring about fashion as much as comfort. GASP. Seriously though, I'm still trying to get my head around this. With all the dance I'm attempting to do, I try my best to wear clothes that I can just get up and stretch in. Sadly, I just end up playing call of duty most of the time. Regardless, all I want in my closet now is comfy stuff I can use for both. Here are some of my top picks for cool and must have workout/dance wear. BE COMFY AND LOOK HOT!

I haven't decided if I want to try and make a pair or just buy them. Regardless, these fringed shorts have become a super must have for me! I honestly don't think I would really wear them to dance. This is like if I went clubbing I would throw this on wear aha.. I'm down for anything that is sexy and avoids panty shots.

Knit Ballet Shorts. These are seriously so cute. I'm down for anything that matches legwarmers.

I looked at these all season with longing at the dance store.

I hate how they don't have two layered legwarms as a thing. Clearly I am going to make some instead of putting two on at a time. That is just a pain, putting one on per leg is bad enough.

This long sleeve ballet top is not only super cute it has a stunning deep back. MUST HAVE!!

After seeing this photo I feel like a lavender body suit is completely necessary.

Over the past year I've developed a thing for like nude color tops. It's so bizzare. I tried one shirt on at a boutique my friend worked at because I was bored and it suddenly became a new thing for me! I love the light material and hood of this burnout dance shirt.

If a unitard is your thing, make sure to go for a romper like style. This striped corset unitard will totally make the american apparel bitches envious.

Pink Yoga Leggings. I took a hip hop class wearing flared pants like this, got my foot caught in the flare and fell. Hard. I didn't think it was a big deal but it must have hit a nerve or something because my vision started fading, then I started loosing my hearing and I thought I was going to puke and had to, blindly yell for someone to take me to the washroom after I had crawled to the side of the room. I ended up passing out on the way and woke up to a nurse screaming at me to breath in a washroom. Weirdest. Thing. EVER. This was all on bring a friend night for my friend. So I've finally taken a break from call of duty to be semi productive with my life. Music has me going through a mini mental breakdown lately.

Thankfully, people occasionally send me awesome things! Joyce from soulbeautiful.ca sent me an awesome summer bra survival kit! It came with bling fashion straps, fashion tape, strap solutions, and enhancer and a bathing suit enhancer.

Could I have taken a worse photo? Seriously though, I'll get better ones.

The clear bra straps are adorable! These are totally going to come in handy. If only I had the double sided tape and straps before I went through so many wardrobe malfunctions in dance competitions this year!

It'll be interesting to try the swimsuit enhancers out. I find the majority of pushup swimsuits that look like bras are stupid.

My bras have been driving me crazy lately, it seems all of them are either broken, don't fit or have too much push up. When I was 14 there was this big competition between all my friends to see who could get the biggest push up bra. I don't know if push up bras have just gotten way too big or if I just realized I don't want to wear them. Either way, I'm sick of all my bras.

How to make your normal bra into a push up bra or just a little more awesome..

-Put in some enhancers! They provide better lift then a push up bra and won't flatten out in the wash. You can also adjust the lift to be comfortable and look more natural.

-Use strap solutions. It will hide your bra straps under a racer back tank and provide a better lift.

-Make sure your straps fit, seriously. This can make a huge difference.

My point is ladies. Your beautiful! You don't need to buy a million different bras to get the look your trying to achieve. With the right tools you can do anything yourself!

I'm sorry i haven't had much time to blog! The last two weeks have been pretty crazy. I've been trying to sort out all this music stuff and I'm doing a 10 day pointe intensive. I've been running downtown and back for dance, my parents are trying to find a new house. I'm trying to make it to other dance classes that I apparently can't find time for! I've also been running to movies with my boyfriend as we have so many we want to see and are kind of behind on them. The Green Lantern was the biggest waste of time ever though. It was AGONY trying to sit through the movie. The first twenty minuets felt like two hours. I eventually walked out in the end, surprising as I usually don't mind sitting through crappy movies. My inner geek is raging. Speaking of my boyfriend, I'm obsessed with the pancakes he makes me. Its honestly the only thing I want to eat. I'm scared hes going to go crazy on me. Being a picky eater, I only eat like 4 different things. This probably being the healthiest of them. I'm pathetic and terrified of food for some reason!

I wish someone made me cute lunches growing up. I would probably have ate any food that was sailor moon themed.

I'm also still debating the whole pink haired thing. Wouldn't that make me look totally stupid in ballet though? I mean I'm already a 19 year old trying to do it so I stand out because of that. If I have pink hair I'm pretty sure a lot of classical dance places will tell me to GTFO.

I wish you could change your hair color like makeup. Wake up and throw some pink on. That would be amazing.

Oddly, they are bringing it here through the Canadian department store The Bay. I'm curious to see how many Topshop stores will open up within The Bay. The department store has been really trying to up their image in the more popular malls like Yorkdale but I think Its gone a little unnoticed. Dancing on a Stage SOO Makes Me A Real Ballerina!

This weekend was my dance recital. I honestly can't believe how fast this year has gone by. I joined dance in January but still, I'm shocked. My experience this year has been great. I found a home at Candance and met my friend Huma who, like me is going after her dreams at an older age. It's so nice having someone else with you when everyone else thinks were nuts.

I've also made some amazing friends in my classes. Lindsey is only two years younger and in jazz with me, she is such a sweet, amazing girl. She's convinced me and Huma are super old though. She explained that this is because her dad is dating a 23 year old and Huma being 21, could be her. When she said this I repiled back with "Well...er...thats your dads issue not us being old!". It didn't even make sense but it was so funny. I love all my friends in class like Andrea and Natasha and just everyone! They've all made me feel so welcome!

Dance hasn't been what I expected at all. The people you do things with really impact your opinions of something. With cheerleading this year, I had thirteen year olds googling me and shit talking me constantly. The bitchy environment of practice made me want to shoot something. I thought the girls at dance would be a lot worse then cheer but maybe I just found the right studio! Who knows.

I'm a little mad that I haven't really been dancing on pointe right all year. Every mistake I've been making has been either something I realize myself or pointed out by Huma. I need some serious one on one lessons this summer. I'M READY TO TRAINN!! (Huma is taking me to this severly strict studio tonight and being that I don't know anything I'm beyond terrified)

I'll post some of my actual dance photos soon but for now, here is me and my friend Huma goofing off on a trampoline. Also, some dance inspo!

Starting ballet or dance at an older age can be a struggle. I called about 10 studios before I found one where the person on the phone would even talk to me. There is a way, it might not be easy but believe me! People will admire you after you start proving to them you want to work hard at it!

I'm so happy I get to be like YEAH BITCHES! I DID POINTE TOO, when I'm like 80. Seriously, I can't live with myself if I can't tell people I did everything I wanted too when I'm older. Not that I'm going to stop at any point..

My New Hair Straightener, Review on the Hana Titanium from Misikko

Recently, I've been back on the hunt for the perfect hair straightener.

My first purchase was a Chi Flat Iron and I don't have a clue how I lived before it. Although my chi served me well for a few years, I eventually moved on to a GHD. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about my GHD. I was a bit underwhelmed with my first few uses but I adjusted eventually. I paid over $300 and I expected amazing results. I feel like it made my hair healthier but the temperature was not adjustable. Besides that major flaw, after only two years a cord in it must be broken because it turns on an off the whole time I try to use it.

For the price I paid I defiantly expected a better made flat iron. Mine was purchased from Sephora so I am sure of its authenticity. (There are so many fakes! Watch out!)

I knew I needed a new flat iron but spending hundreds of dollars trying to find the right one isn't exactly in my non existent budget. For once the hair gods gave my wallet a break and sent me a marketing angel right when I needed one! John from Misikko Hair Straighteners sent me the Hana Titanium Ionic Flat Iron to try out. I'm honestly really happy with it. Hana isn't a brand I've heard of before this but it's defiantly worth checking out.

(Look at the amazing package they sent me! It was so beautifully wrapped! They even sent me the sweetest handmade note. LOVE. All around. They are outstanding. )

The best part of this iron is the versatility of it. The heat can be set to as low as 140 and as high as 450 F. This is great for a hair stylist or a house with different hair textures. With the high heat settings you'll be able to smooth the thickest of hair. The Hana straightener has titanium iron plates with tourmaline in it (retains heat better). It also comes with a 2 year warranty and what has to be the best customer service ever. Misikko beleives in creating a long lasting relationship with their customers which is obvious by the packages they send out. I'm still convinced this company only exists in my perfect world... I'm going to order from them just to feel the love they send out!

Because reviews can drive me crazy and a lot of times I just skim through, here is a list of pros and cons.

- Has the smoothest plates to smooth, relax and avoid pulling

- Works great for ethnic hair as well

- Heats up in 6seconds and stays heated

- Mirror surface on plates (prevents scratches)

- 1.5" plate (Straightens hair faster, great for thicker hair)

- 2 year warranty

- Can curl/ flip hair.

- Good price for such a high end straightener at $174.99 comes

with free shipping too!

- Misikkos customer service is beyond amazing.

- Comes with free silicone matt and travel pouch, so you can avoid burning your house down with your flat iron like my friend did.

CONS

- Not good for someone with super short hair as it has a larger plate (Check out the Hana 1" straightener as well if you have short hair or need to share with a boyfriend)

- Might be a bit pricey for some

I would defiantly use an oil like coconut or jojoba before straightening for a super shiny finish. This flat iron seals in the oils well which is great for your hair. Hana's shield serum is a great product that does a good job at smoothing and protecting. Its very slippery in a good way, it doesn't leave your hair greasy and you really don't need much.

After such a great experience I defiantly want to save up for a hair dryer from Misakko. Have you guys tried any new straighteners lately? What is your must have hair tool?

As you know, I'm really trying to become established on Esty.com. It's so much more work then it looks! I keep posting though so please check out my shop whenever you have a chance! I'm honestly terrified of ending up on Regretsy. Etsy buyers can be pretty odd and honestly its near impossible to tell what will sell and what wont! One of the cutest artisans I've come across lately is Christina Bias with her adorable deco shop Pink Sugar Crystals.

Her avatar immedtialy caught my eye. This is her uncomprehendingly cute bichon Mary Jane.

I would die if I saw this dog.

The first thing to catch my eye in her shop was the decoed Hello Kitty headphones. I lovee them!

This blinged out light switch is a must have for any princess room.

I'm also totally loving the decoed Steve Madden heels. Perfect for prom or a wedding.

Besides etsy lurking, I've been putting a lot of thought into what I should do to my blog layout. I'm kinda thinking of doing more of a basic, clean white page like every fashion blogger in the world is doing. I'm really lost though! Opinions?

I'm so sorry for not blogging, I've been dying too but I've been busy with a million things. One of the things I've been up too has been helping my boyfriend move. I'm super upset he moved but I'm trying to make the best of it by making it all as girly as possible. I want to paint it pink. I might get away with it in his room! Sadly my plans for a toilet like the one pictured below are totally not going to happen. His washroom does not deserve this deco greatness anyways!

What are your easy ways of pimping out a room quick? The more temporary the better.

I've also been in the craziest fight with my hair lately. I swear, I feel like I know how to tame my crazy, frizzy wavy hair and then out of nowhere I feel more clueless then ever. I'm pretty sure the last keratin complex treatment I did messed up my hair. The first two seemed to be fine. I got the first one professionally done and did the second one myself without a problem. I then did it myself the third time and my hair felt pretty dry and unhappy after. I also have had a super bad like chemical burn or rash on my neck and ears. I don't notice it sometimes and then other days i scratch a lot. I totally need to go to the doctors after scratching like a maniac the last two days.

Out of curiosity, how many of my readers have either dry/course/wavy or curly hair? How hard do you guys find to manage your hair?

DIY Inspiration of the Day - Pastel Dye Ideas

I'm super into DIY right now. Besides the fact I've been working on stuff to try and sell on etsy, the whole DIY community online is crazy awesome. That and for the last few months every time I go into a store I feel like I could easily make half of everything in it. Lazy sewing is in with retail, I'm happy about this.

I've decided to start doing inspiration posts to hopefully help inspire you to get your craft on!

So.. my laptop broke! Now I am even more behind in live and even more in debit.
I apologize as my blogging is probably going to a bit crappy for the next little while. Speaking of which, their is honestly no laptop reviews marketed towards teens and college students. I hate shopping for a laptop and I defiantly don't want to be stuck with anything as horribly as my dell inspiron was. The day I received it, keys started falling out. Within two months the battery completly died and I had to always have it plugged in. Then the cord broke after a year and I had to get a new cord. Hardly two years in, I'm not finished paying for it and it decided it just didn't want to work anymore. The computer repair guy was shocked at how badly made my laptop was. Not to mention I did pay over $1000.00 for it. I'm so upset!! Dell was terrible and told me they couldn't help me. They offered to replace the battery possibly but I'd have to sent it in for two to three months for them to see if it was actually a problem. Urghh!!! So not pleased. I'm currently on a hp laptop and I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. Its defiantly a change. I'm not a fan of the hard to click mouse area. I'll let you know how this goes.. but anyways. Students looking for laptops for university, do not go with a dell. You will be left screwed with a crap computer. Dell I wanted to love you so much!

The New Hot Workout, Jukari Fit to Fly now in Toronto!!

Fitness trends are honestly so much fun. I love when they pop up and everybody goes crazy over something.

Pole fitness is such an intense fun workout, I haven't tried Zumba but my friends are going crazy over it. Toronto seems to be super excited about the latest fittness trend, Jukari Fit to Fly by Reebok and Cirque de Soliel. The workout involves use of an adjustable trapeze like bar. You jump around and basically get a bit of a swinging feel as if you were on a trapeze. I love how they took the fear of heights and actually flying out aha! I'm dying to do actual trapeze lessons but finding somebody to do it with me has just been such a pain! Check out this video of the workout to get a better idea of the cool moves you do in class with the equipment!

This workout is my last hope to try and build some arm muscles. It would be SO nice to not worry about my elbows snapping off and gaining some strength to try tumbling again someday.

I'm hoping whoever I drag to these classes with me will want to eventually try the real thing too!

Barbie Suite at The Palms, Perfect Place for a Gal Themed Party

I can't believe I never heard about this! The Palms hotel in Las Vegas has a Barbie themed room that I HAVE to go and party in someday. Only in Vegas would a room have a capacity of 50 people. If you have $4000 a night then you totally need to do this up for all of us who can't!

This place would be the perfect host to a massive gal sleepover event. I can just picture the curling irons, M*ars clothes and pink Martinis. I seriously need to get famous yesterday so I can throw awesome events like this!

So I really have no clue what's going on with dance. I don't know when anything is or when events are coming up or even what to do with my makeup. To be honest, I barley know the dances. Two weeks ago we had a Dance like a Star benefit to raise money for a charity my studio owner started? Or something? I wasn't expecting a huge fancy thing but well it like was! I was super surprised and impressed. It was actually a lot of fun. I however have a competition this Sunday that I am not ready for. Besides sucking at the dances I have no way to get there. No one apparently knowns when I'm competing either! This disorganization is killing me but I do love my studio besides that so much.

P.S this is my jazz costume. Were dancing to the song Ghost by Fefe Dobson.

My pointe costume is beautifulll I wish it was a compeititve class. I however am the only one in the class who hasn't ordered it yet though becuase I joined it so late... Kinda getting worried here...

Swan Manga Review! The best shojo manga?

Could this woman be any more beautiful?

You know who's awesome? Karen Kain. That woman has done tremendous things for Ballet in Canada. When I was in grade 3, we had to dress up as someone we wanted to be and looked up too. I had no idea what to do for this so my mom told me to be her. I put on my ballet costume and pretended I knew how cool she was. Obviously I had no idea back then.

I've really been reading up on ballet's fascinating history of dancers. I thought it was so cool she used to dance with ballet superstar Rudolf Nureyev.
It helps I've found what has to be one of the best shojo manga's ever written, "Swan" at the library. Regardless of your interest in ballet, this manga will totally surpass your expectations.
For a manga made in the 70's, I feared it would be cheesier then the fluffy story lines constantly being released. The story behind Swan is empowering. This manga should strongly speak to anyone who passionately goes after their dreams. The Author Kyoko Ariyoshi has the vocabulary and knowledge of a professional ballerina. I'm unaware if she herself danced but with the amount of love she expresses for ballet in the story I can only hope she did. Ariyoshi adds even more depth to the storyline by using actual ballet star of the time with Alexei Sergeiev as a main character. Tons of other great dancers are mentioned and make guest appearances. The manga also has a very international feel in terms of multiple settings.
The characters are drawn in a romantic, oldschool and dreamy fashion. The way artist Kyoko Ariyoshi manages to capture every single element of a perfectly executed pirouette brings her artwork to a whole different level. With her pencil she demonstrates perfect posture and technique. From what I could scarcely find online, Mrs. Ariyoshi seemed to be very influential in shaping the modern day shojo genre. I find it sad that this is perhaps the only manga I have read for along long time that doesn't circle around complex love triangles or over sexualized cat transforming preteens. Don't get me wrong, thoes stories are great for what they are but in the longterm have just been discrediting artists like Ariyoshi who have the ability to deleiver a strong, inspiring storyline without excessivly sexualized characters.

At first I was kinda put off of by the pointed noses and outdated hairstyles. You just need to accept it as a different kind of shojo though! This manga seems incredibly hard to find. Like mostly everything I want to read now, it's out of print. My local library however apparently has all the volumes. The librarian said they have awesome suppliers that hunt down series but still, WOW. Would it be legal for me to scan and upload this for people? I totally don't understand how that stuff works but people need to read this! I can't wait to get time to read the rest! SOOO ADDICTIVE! My problem is actually improving my own dance and not reading about characters getting better at it! Black Swan wasn't exactly a great story but it has sparked a large mainstream interest in ballet. I hope people will want to check this out!

I just want to throw my pointe shoes on so bad right now. Ballet was super fun last night. Me and huma have still not given up hope that we will one day find an amazing place to intensely train our "old" unexperienced butt's off at.

Thank god for the internet. No longer are my bikini options the racks of roxy and billabong at boathouse. Don't get me wrong, they are totally cute but swim wear is such a perfect time to show off your daring style! Throw on the right one piece and your instantly chic and glamorous.

The fashion gods have not been nice to me in my previous swim wear choices. I don't go swimming often now but I really do want too. When I was about 14, I decided a overpriced juicy couture swimsuit was something I absolutely needed. I blew $300 on a pink terry cloth bikini that was about three sizes too big. Let this be a warning to you, do not be blinded by labels youngsters! I wore my ill fitting investment to the beach..with a pair of lace up pink high heels and a matching pink cowboy hat. Kay the cowboy hat worked at the time but the heels. Just.Why. Excitedly arriving at the beach, I was horrified to realize my wet butt was soaking up the sand. My butt soaked up about a pound of sand. I tried as much as I could to get it all out but the bikini was forever sandy, discolored and gross. Worst purchase ever!

Here is my friend wearing it. It fit her alottt better then it fit me but the butt was super saggy on her. I'm guessing by her adjusting the top in this photo she also had issues with it! That thing must have fit like a bag on me! The best part was what the label meant to her. She walked around her trailer park in it with my fake gucci sunglasses on making fun of everyone because they shopped at wal-mart. I almost got killed because of this stupid bikini!

It also blows my mind that I once thought the metallic stripper bikinis and one pieces at guess were "cool". I'm happy to announce I am in a much, much better place. Just avoid metallics in swim wear this season.

Valentines Day- Moulin Rouge The Ballet!

For Valentines Day I went to the ballet! I saw Moulin Rouge, performed by the Winnipeg ballet at the Living Arts Center. I had amazing seats! Second row, in the middle! It was really interesting to study how they performed from so close.

Honestly, I did expect a bit more from the show. The costumes were interesting, good at times but bad at others. It was nice to see all the colors on stage with the Cancan.

The story had some major issues, like the tameness of such a rowdy setting. This ballet really had a chance to break free of tradition and be extremely different. It decided to stay as traditional as possible however.

The technical skills were what shocked me the most I think. I'm no ballet expect but it felt like there just wasn't much dancing. There were many impressive cheerleader-Esq lifts but so many moments of miming. Only twice did the two leading ladies show off their skills of multiple pirouettes.

The male lead Gael Lambiotte, really stood out as an amazing performer. He was legit born to be a ballet star. Look him up and see him in a ballet, seriously.

It was still a great ballet! It was nice to see something so different and colorful. Especially with the seats we had! Oh how badly I want to perform!

The only picture I got of the night! I look odd but oh well. At least its something aha.

The Importance of The Right Studio and Teachers to Anything...

I can be the best or worst girlfriend, depending on how versatile your interests are. I'm a nerd, I love playing video games and cosplaying. I'm down for wrestling like an idiot and I burp louder then anyone you'll probably ever meet. On the downside, I am somehow unbearably stereotypical in the girliest of ways. I dream of rhinestones on every surface, intensely watch wedding shows (while planning multiple weddings of my own) and often can be found crying in the toddler section of stores because I cannot fit in the girly, fluffy dresses. My boyfriend routinely has to drag me out of Toys R Us, throwing me over his shoulders while I'm kicking and screaming. This is after he has struggled for 10 minuets to help me out of whichever Disney princess costume I had decided was essential to try on. It is not plesent getting stuck with your arms in awkward positions while being unable to see. They need bigger sizes then for 4 year olds, clearly. Honestly, I am still identical to who I was when I was 4. I love the same things, have the same dreams and really have no concept of what is and what isn't possible to achieve.

I can be quite a handful! I also love dragging the people I care about into my crazy, latest obsession. As I'm so unbelievably in love with dance, I did what any sane 18 year old would not do. I dragged him to a partner dance lesson! (Also with my hopes of becoming a super awesome competitive dance couple... I can't help it!)

Ballroom dancing has been everywhere in the media for the last few years. From Dancing With the Stars to So You Think You Can Dance, the world has been exposed to its technicality and sexy appeal. After watching Moulin Rouge I knew doing a sexy tango was on my to do in life list. Being a huge Shakira fan, she confirmed a love of tango for me.

Also, the movie Take the Lead was really good!

I remember the first time I actually saw someone ballroom dancing. I can't explain why but seeing partner dancing in person made it all seem so much more real. I was on the way back from a super important music business meeting. I was extremely upset about my parents not coming t0 my meeting, while being super excited about the future. Whole lotta mixed emotions going on! It was a gorgeous day, I was dressed crazy and I was walking down the street in an cute little area I didn't know. It felt like some weird dream.

Somehow this dance studio I was walking past, really stood out to me. It was beautiful. The windows were all open and the way the sun was shining through was amazing. The light alone drew me towards it. The studio had its doors open and it looked so inviting. I saw this couple dancing. They glided across the floor while looking so elegant and happy. I just stopped, sat down and watched them for a few minuets.

I knew someday I wanted to take dance classes in Toronto, at that particular studio. I would kill to be able to go there and just dance in that studio by myself! The world would just not exist.

Recently, after taking one less then thrilling and obviously more geared towards an older, lame clientele lesson in Oakville, I wanted to try this studio even more. The lesson my boyfriend and I took was with a large corperate chain studio. I recommend you avoid them like the plague unless your over fifty. Danceology just looks like a much better place to discover the actually art and beauty of ballroom dance. I think its important to find a studio where the instructors have a strong dance history. You can't learn from somebody who does it as a job, dance and teaching it needs to come from the heart! Danceology looks way more then qualified in that respect. Hopefully I haven't scared my boyfriend too much with my previous experience. I still have hopes of doing an extremely sexy tricked out tango one day! I feel like this studio is the place I'll find out if a sexy tango is right for me, aha.

Living in My Own Little Ballet World Is So Much Better With a Friend!

Saturday mornings have quickly become my favorite day of the week. I get up early and get to do whatever I want in a dance studio! Pretty much my favorite thing to do ever. I love coming up with dances, practicing and going over dances I've been trying to learn.

You know how I was worried I'd be the super old girl in class with no one to talk to? I've actually made so many friends that I legit like! I mean a lot of them are 4 years younger then me but honestly its refreshing. I think the older girls get, the more serious they take themselves. I'm not really someone who worries about looking stupid, so even though I'm pretty behind in everything technically it's not something I worry about. In whatever it is you do, remember you are there to get better.

Believing in yourself in whatever you do is super key. I still have no clue what I'm doing in ballet half the time but my hardwork has paid off and I literally bring my pointe shoes with me everywhere I go. I bring them to recording, school, friends. EVERYWHERE. They are my babies.

In pointe I meet Huma. Shes two years older then me, just started this summer and is as passionate as I am about dance! I never thought I'd meet someone else just starting with the same dreams of pointe. It's honestly so rare to meet someone who actually goes after their dreams, especially when faced with the whole age thing. Huma takes two technique classes at my studio and pointe and two more ballet classes at other studios. I love her to death and she fasinated me, I want to learn everything about her. Have you ever met somebody and just felt like they have a super interesting life your dying to hear about?

So on Saturday mornings me and Huma get to dance our little hearts out. Were working on a kpop en pointe adaption of a dance. I'm not going to spoil it by telling you which one but I'm defiantly going to post it when we have more of it worked out!
I need to find more places to dance at where I can do whatever I want. Its just soo amazing.

It sucks me and Huma will never get to perform as principal dancers for the National Ballet but hey, I'm all about unconventional ways to fill dreams. New Phone, Need deco Ideas!

I finally got a picture from a photo shoot I did! I look kinda odd in it to be honest. This was a Halloween costume I got when I was working at a costume store. It reminded me of a Japanese idol group. I couldn't help it! I love costumes way too much. I wish I had more time to invest in actually cosplaying.

My life has been a tad chaotic since I dropped my blackberry in the toilet last week. I did however get a bb torch! Apperently if you work for bell they give you phones when you reach goals. So this means super employees get like, millions of free phones. They can then sell them to clients for cheaper! SCREW YOU BELL. I BEAT THE SYSTEM. Sorta....
Yeah, I just do not get along with bell.
The bb torch is pretty weird I must say. The internet browsing is a lot better though.

For some reason my mom went out and bought an iphone today. Looking at new phones made her snap from her ghetto twenty year old cell aha.

So, this is probably the first English pop song I've liked in way to long. The s&m theme can be a bit much but I absolutely love the colorful outfits. Riri having control of the paparazzi is also pretty funny. The playfulness of the video is totally what makes it work.

In a lot of ways, I didn't want to find myself walking out of my newly joined dance classes smiling. I try to stop myself. Deep down, I wanted to hate myself for quitting cheer. I wanted to regret giving up my team and uniform as well as the only slight progress I had made in trying to fit in at my gym. I wanted to feel bad for my mother screaming at me for quitting and be upset that I'm stuck trying to come up with the money for dance myself. I wanted to miss going to practice every Monday and Wednesday for something more then my friends their but I can't. I don't.

I wanted to be wrong because I love cheerleading so much. Growing up I wanted two things in life, to be a popstar and to be a cheerleader. I don't want to think that what I wanted to get from cheer wasn't possible (because I really want to believe anything is. I need to if I want to become a freaking superstar). Yet the last few months its become really, really evident that I'm much more likely to be successful in music then ever topping in a routine or even feeling useful in one.

Should I instead think cheer just wasn't right for me, regardless of how much I love it? I'm really confused about it all. It's not like I didn't keep trying. The past five years I've been cheering on and off. I started out on a team but quit due to the most terrifying girl in the world. (I went back to that gym in grade 12 and she was on the team. She told me I wasn't going to do anything and called me fat within the first five minuets. THEN remembered I had been the victim of her torture on a team years ago). I ended up cheering at Cobras with my friend Angela. I made the most amazing friends Stepha, Dee and Julia there. I love them to death and am so greatful to have met them. I think this was the most fun I had cheering on a competitive team. I stayed for most of the year but the last two months I just got too restless with a desire to be doing more in the routine. It wasn't so clear to me then and with Angela quitting cheer and dropping out of school I needed time to think and get used to everything changing.

The most fun I had cheering was when I was captain of my school team. Probably due to the fact I was defying all odds by starting up, maintaing and getting us to actually compete. Everyday I had to do something to keep it going. I was determined to make it happen and I did. It felt good knowing without me their wouldn't have been a team. I was living in a severely messed up version of Bring it On. We were horrible, the school wanted us to fail and the staff were all very unsupported except for the angel mrs.Brown who by accident got dragged into being our staff sponsor.

That team was my baby, my terror of a child who refused to cooperate but mine none the less. Our members dwindled and finding coaches and completing a routine was an endless cycle. It was so hard but I knew we had to compete at least once. I may not have fit in at school during the day but at practice I had a place. I had gotten close to the girls on the team regardless of how we may have felt about one another. I even was doing some occasional topping. I really felt like I had started and was involved in something. (Canadian high schools, mainly the peel region SERIOUSLY lack extra circulars. Your drop out rate is not suprising). We finally made it to the last competition; also the biggest of the year. One of the girls I had become close with on the team (until I asked her to pay me back for lunch once, regardless of the fact I bought her it everyday and drove her home) made remarks about how other people could have done a better job as captain but It didn't matter to me. I knew if anyone else had started it, there wouldn't be a team. We competed, learning the routine with only two practices and lacking so many of our original members. I could barley walk on the second day of competition because I had mono and had been to the prom of the complicated bipolar boy known to my early blog readers as asshole. Regardless of how bad we were, how sick I was and what had happened I was so, so, proud of us. I told the team our goal was to get second last place and considering what we were working with it didn't seem likely. We did however reach our goal! I cried I was so happy that we had achieved a seemingly pathetic award. Making it to a competition felt like first place to me. It was really all that mattered. I had helped us achieve what was the imposible to my school and many of my teammates.

We were excited for the next year, we knew we could successfully have a team. The disbelief it would last was exactly what hurt us so much previously. Our teacher sponsor wouldn't be returning and I had suffered from being extremely sick through the summer months and continued to be. I went to school, if only to make sure our team continued. After weeks of begging teachers to be our sponsor we found one. For some reason we had to get the worlds worst principal Mrs. Turner who thought cheerleading was only for cheering boys on and not a sport. Ironic as she had the worst butch haircut and style. She tells me this after dragging me through weeks of chasing her to even ask her a question. Then making me make up a long presentation that in the end she wouldn't even open and look at. I was sick, exhausted and had never been so angry in my life. She made the staff members cry and constantly crushed the dreams of many students. It disgusted me that people like her could be in positions of power, let alone have the power to negatively change so many futures. I hated everything. I sat in class thinking of the things I wanted to say to her. My few friends at school were kicked out for petty reasons or went through some very insecure changes and my illness took every ounce of strength away from me. I sat in class quiet, defeated and unbelievably miserable. I'd stare at the computer screen on into a hall of a school I hadn't loved but had made work. The previous year was a different life and I was now in hell and invisible to everyone around me. My teacher thought I was on the verge of suicide. I couldn't fight anymore, so I did what I never thought I would and dropped out of school. (I've been finishing through correspondence books that I can not bring myself to do)

Getting over loosing my team was unbelievably hard on me. I also had to give up on my stereotypical high school dreams of prom and graduation. It came at the worst time. The past few months I had been throwing up every time I ate, in the hospital and sleeping constantly. The stomach pain I went through daily is just indescribable. Think of having food poisoning for six months. I thought I'd be sick forever. Slowly I got better but I was still very, very depressed. I tried, finally to suck up the pain and get back into cheering because I loved it so much. I was over joyed until the actually terrifyingly insane girl from my first team was on the team I was going to join (mentioned above). I basically stopped trying to think about it too much. I figured I would deal with it another day. I went to tryouts at my old gym cobras with my former teammate and friend Stepha. My previous coach, who never liked me put me on a friggen recreational team. Stepha who is extremly talented and deserved much better had been cheering for 5 years there was once again put on level 2. It was clear that gym was not the place for cheerleaders like me and my friends to grow. I was so upset and angry I went to the park and cried when I got home. The next week right after an emotional encounter at Anime North with my former best friends I ran into a mutal friend off facebook who happens to be the perfect and extremely talented example of a male cheerleader from that gym. As I was shocked and hurt by my ex-friend encounter I boldly asked to hangout with him. He also happened to be with his best friend who was on Canada's best university team. It felt like I was in some crazy bizarre dream.I had mentioned to one of my best friends Jo months before that all Anime North needed was cheerleaders and suddenly I was surrounded by them. They started tumbling around and I felt so worthless. I got spat on, beat up and my hair torn out through highschool but they never made me feel worthless or talentless. I wasn't used to feeling threatened, especially not by boys. I had flirted with guys from my favorite bands on the radio and didn't let their massive egos make me feel like I wasn't up to their level. Countless times I had shot them down. Yet here I was in front of two successful male cheerleaders and I felt embarrassed and so unsuccessful with my life. I wanted to be them, I wanted to at least be somewhat near their level. I didn't want to be so embarrassingly bad. Something in me changed for a few months. In an instant, my fears of tumbling were blocked by the pain of wanting to prove to the world I could do it. I went home, signed up for tumbling lessons twice a week and walked into the gym and fearlessly jumped back onto my hands when it was my turn without thinking twice. I wasnt scared and all summer I was doing handsprings with a very light spot. This hunger for getting better was fueled by the fact I had started seeing one of the boys I had met. Eventually, I think the realization that even with tumbling, I still wouldn't be doing much in a routine.I still wouldn't play a prominent role in a cheer gyms established true inner family. With just a handspring I wouldn't be much use to anyone. I wouldn't be that cheerleader I dreamed about. I showed up to practice at the end of july and I was regular Keely again. The Keely who hadn't been fearlessly tumbling all summer. I was back to being scared, the guy I was seeing was leaving for university soon and my summer bubble was bursting. I'd never be on their level. I popped my arm out of the joint on my one good elbow, permanently hurting it the following week on my trampoline.

I tried this year to make cheer work for me still. I dealt with the failure of my summer goals and tried to focus on being good for whatever team I could be on. My outlook was different, I so badly wanted to be apart of the cheer world I was exposed to over the summer if even in a minuscule way. I joined two teams, open and senior. Open only ran until November and I was happy to be on a level 6 team regardless of how much work I was doing. I also enjoyed the maturity of an open team. I thought by being on this team I could prove I was working hard and could be a dedicated and useful member of my senior team. I ended up really loving some of the girls on my senior team but no matter how hard I worked, I found myself going to practice twice a week and being one of the two girls who did absolutely nothing for the majority of the routine including all the stunts. I wasn't so upset having two or three hours to pretty much try and do painful bridges with my wonky, popping out elbows. Drunk and alone on New Years and right after my first dance class it donned on me that I was severely holding myself back. I want to finish my album this year. I want to be the best performer I can be. I want to be a great dancer and have inspiring music videos. The way I use my time right now is extremely important. Wasting 7+ hours a week on cheer isn't benefiting me in any way. Even if I'd rather be in a cheer uniform, dance is what I really need and want.

Dance isn't easy. Perhaps the only part of cheer I ever found myself enjoying was the one eight count that was known as our dance section of the routine. It took many phone calls to find a studio that was flexible in letting someone older and not very experienced join. I can't do multiple pirouettes, my jumps are terrible and as for now I'm usually the worst in the class. I can however say I will get better. It's not easy but its achievable. I don't need others to achieve my goals like I do with cheer. Going en Pointe has always been a goal of mine. My previous ballet training was quite minimal as my two years of youth dancing did not involve any bar work.

I've worked my butt off in the classes the last month and this week I got to purchase the shoes I always dreamed of buying. The gratification I find dance offers is hard to adjust to. I find myself hesitant to really throw in the effort and passion I could put into cheer leading. I don't dream like magical feeling I feel when I think of achieving my dance goals like I did with cheer. I don't consider myself a dancer yet. I hope with time I will and I hope the magic will come with it. Part of me wonders if I can ever put the failure I feel with cheer to rest. I don't know if I can ever truly give up that hope.
(At my last competition with 4.2. We wore pink spankies and makeup for breast cancer. I felt super disconnected and frustrated with my team. I put a bunch of pink streaks in my hair as my way of rebelling. I think this was my breaking point. I wouldn't put up with the way cheer made me feel useless after this)

Do you feel that a certain thing can happen for some people while for others its just impossible for some reason? Would you keep fighting for what you want or would you settle for the thing that you could do better and could better impact your life. Would you continue doing what you love if it made you sad?

I wish I could cheer like everyone. I wish I didn't feel the millions of stupid artsy feelings my tortured song writing soul feels. I'll always want to be a normal cheerleader. For everyone who is completly happy with what they love doing. Cherish it.

I am honestly so exhausted. I hate winter it honestly sucks away any energy I did have. I thought I'd do a post about easy makeup! What are your favorite products when you don't want to use much makeup but still look pretty? Mine are Revlons liquid eye pencil, unlike macs I haven't had problems with it drying out. Ben nye eyeshadow as a blush honestly is the most amazing blush and/or makeup product I have ever discovered. Then I top it off with any mascara, light eyeshadow at the tear duct and some hard candy lipgloss!

I really want to add more pink in my hair. I'm so bad to committing to anything not blonde though.
