Facials At Home

If you've never gotten a facial before, now is the time to start. It's a great way to pamper yourself and it leaves your skin feeling amazing. But if the only thing that's been stopping you from getting one in the past is lack of money (I know that they can get pricey), then you don't need to worry. You can give yourself one at home!

First off, you need to wash your face with soap, as well as gently exfoliate. I use one like this, from Bath & Body works.
Next, you'll need to use a large pot to boil some water. I recommend adding some lavender oil to the water. Cover the pot while it boils.
After about ten minutes, take the cover off and put a towel over your head. Hold your face over the water for about ten minutes, but keep your face far enough away from the pot that the steam doesn't burn you. This helps soften your pores in your face, which will allow you to get the dirt and oil out.
After this, wipe off your face with a washcloth.
The next step all depends on your particular skin type. If you have dry skin, use a moisturizing mask, like this Aqua Plus Face Mask with Cucumber. If you have combination skin, use a Purifying Mask. For oily skin, use an Oil Free Moisturizer. These will usually need to stay on for about ten minutes.
Afterwords, rinse with COLD water (which will reduce pores.)
To finish off, use a light facial lotion.

Enjoy your beautiful, clean skin!
